Beautiful Feet

We headed to Fort Worth, Texas with New Horizon's Youth & College Group, to serve the streets & homeless at Beautiful Feet Ministries. We did as Jesus instructed in Luke 9: healed the sick, casted out demons, & brought the Kingdom! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Home is the streets & shelters for these. Many drive over the bridge where they live every day, but we chose to stop for the one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After attending a worship service before eating, some have their only meal for the day. So many stories with a situation that wrecked their life: Trauma. Death. Suicide. Murder. Rape. Drugs. Neglect. Rejection. Rage. Fostering. Divorce. Alcohol. Addiction.

It so easily could have been any of us. They are givers, broken, tough, passionate, and real. These are the ones whom Jesus knew & visited. They are His friends.

It was people who were experiencing homelessness & hopelessness finding a home & hope. Jesus there, honoring each of their stories & journeys of wandering and wondering. Accepting their questions & empathizing with their pain. Realizing He knew just how they felt. Remembering He had been there too. Rejoicing that resurrection wasn’t just for Him, it was for them.

“Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.

Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.” -Isaiah‬ ‭58:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
